CareNow COVID-19 Health precautions

CareNow follows official and up-to-date advice from the Australian Government's Department of Health about community responsibilities for containing the spread of COVID-19.

As is the case for all decisions at this time, families and carers must decide for themselves whether they are comfortable engaging in this service.    All willing participants, (parents/guardians and FHoP helpers) must complete this simple online training course designed by the Department of Health.

Families are also advised to set up a set of protocols to be followed each day based on the advice in the training course which include avoiding public spaces (particularly indoors), maintaining safe social distance where possible, regularly washing and sanitising hands and surfaces and monitoring any symptoms.

By engaging care-now, parents can work more productively, knowing their special-needs kids are safe, engaged and occupied during work hours.

In addition to expert care and understanding of the full range of disability support needs, Care-Now carers can also  provide emergency support including:

  • creating structure and planned activities for the day

  • providing meals and snacks

  • facilitating movement and outdoor activities to burn off some cabin-fever energy

  • any other reasonable family support-related tasks as agreed together
