About Us
ShineNow exists because we believe that every person should have the opportunity to feel empowered by and make friends through the performing arts. Too many amazing moments and experiences go unperformed and unseen due to a lack of opportunities for young people with a disability. At ShineNow we are a team of youthful drama enthusiasts who have all been touched in some way by the love and warmth of the disability community here in Melbourne.
THE PROGRAM
Each weekly workshop will go for 90 minutes and will be broken up into different sections. These will include warm-up games, weekly skill acquisition, theatre and improvisation games and play workshopping. Whilst most of the session will be done in medium sized groups, the last section of each workshop will be split into small groups of 1-2 facilitators and 3 participants. Here we will work together to create a small play over the duration of the term to be performed in front of friends and family at our end of term skit night!
